Robert Bubb

Dr. Robert Bubb serves as a Lecturer in the Human Development and Family Science Department at Auburn University and holds a Virginia Humanities Scholar position. His academic work integrates community engagement through collaborative teaching in junior high and high schools focused on local African American history and cemetery preservation.

Research centers on African American history with emphasis on documenting enslaved ancestors in Texas and Washington County Freedom Colonies. This decade-long project, undertaken to honor his late grandfather, examines how his forebears—brought by the Old Three Hundred—contributed to regional infrastructure development. His methodology combines historical research with hands-on preservation efforts.
