Robert Allen Foster

Robert Allen Foster ("Bob") is a Part-Time Lecturer in the Department of Management at the Walton College of Business, University of Arkansas, where he began in Spring 2020. He also operates as an independent insurance agent while maintaining his academic role.

• Education: Ph.D. in Organization and Management Business Education (Capella University), MBA (Webster University), BS in Agriculture Economics (Missouri State University)

His research focuses on virtual matrix global teams, emphasizing strategies to enhance cross-industry teamwork and communication. Teaching interests include helping students expand beyond academic silos, leveraging his Walmart experience mentoring associates in supply chain technologies.

Dr. Foster has been recognized through membership in Delta Mu Delta honor society. His professional background includes 18.5 years at Walmart Stores Home Office, where he led global sourcing teams for refrigeration/lighting projects and trained associates on SAP/Ariba systems for supply chain optimization.

His industry experience spans Agriculture, Manufacturing, and Warehousing sectors, complemented by Six Sigma Black Belt certification and World Trade Organization supply chain training leadership.
