Robert Alderman is an Assistant Teaching Professor in the Department of English at Pennsylvania State University. He holds an MFA in Creative Writing from the University of South Florida and a BA in English from the same institution. Alderman founded Pulp Hummock Press in 2021, a publishing company specializing in sword & sorcery fiction and tabletop roleplaying game products. His award-winning book series Gods of the Forbidden North achieved Platinum Best Seller status and was honored with the ENNIE Judges Spotlight Award at GenCon 2024. His professional background includes global outreach roles at a Catholic educational nonprofit and major gift fundraising training.
Research interests span creative writing pedagogy, the intersection of science and religion, and narrative design in tabletop RPGs. His creative work has appeared in So It Goes, The Wrath-Bearing Tree, and Proud to Be: Writing by American Warriors, where his poem Watch for the Patterns, Watch for the Wires won the CALS 'Secret' contest.
