Robbie Moon

Robbie Moon is an Associate Professor of Accounting and Area Chair of the Accounting Department at the Scheller College of Business, Georgia Institute of Technology. His research focuses on financial accounting, auditing, and disclosure practices, with a particular emphasis on textual analysis and advanced data analytics.

His research interests span financial accounting and auditing, with a strong focus on voluntary and mandatory corporate disclosures, including nontraditional channels such as social media. He investigates how firms communicate financial distress and audit outcomes, often applying machine learning and natural language processing to large textual datasets. His work bridges capital markets research with modern computational techniques.

Robbie has been recognized for his teaching and research innovation, including the Hubert L. Harris Early Career Professorship and a Sustainability Education Innovation Grant. He serves on the editorial boards of premier journals such as The Accounting Review and Contemporary Accounting Research.
