Rob Willems

Rob Willems is a Full Professor of Population Genetics of Antibiotic Resistance at the Department of Medical Microbiology, University Medical Center Utrecht. He has held academic and research positions since 1993, including roles at RIVM and UMC Utrecht.

Research interests span antibiotic resistance dynamics, microbial pathogenesis, and host-microbe interactions. His work integrates population genetics, mobile genetic elements, and microbiome studies to address infectious disease challenges.
