Dr. Rob Rotunda serves as a Professor in the Department of Psychology within the College of Health at the University of West Florida, where he has been faculty since 1996. A licensed clinical psychologist, he trains master's level counselors and is an active member of the Center for Applied Psychology, the department's research and consulting arm.
His educational background includes a bachelor's degree in Psychology and Social Welfare from the State University of New York at Albany, a doctorate in Clinical/Community Psychology from the University of South Carolina (1993), and postdoctoral training at Harvard's Families and Addiction Program following clinical internship at Brockton and West Roxbury Veterans Affairs Medical Center.
Rotunda's research spans addictive disorders—including alcohol abuse, gambling, internet usage, shopping, and work addiction—alongside trauma/PTSD, crisis intervention, disaster response, couple/family therapy, and sport psychology.
