Rob Nelson is a Professor in the Department of History at the University of Windsor's Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences. His research explores social and cultural history, particularly the history of food culture, regional identity, and community narratives in the Windsor-Detroit border region.
He collaborates extensively on interdisciplinary projects combining historical research with documentary film and public engagement. Notable collaborations include live documentary productions with the Windsor Symphony Orchestra examining Arab-Canadian food culture and historical narratives of the Wyandot people.
Professor Nelson teaches courses in historical methodology and public history, engaging students in community-based research projects.
