Rob Macmillan

Dr Rob Macmillan is a Principal Research Fellow at Sheffield Hallam University's Centre for Regional Economic and Social Research (CRESR), with over 20 years of expertise in third sector research. He holds BA(Hons), MA, and PhD qualifications. His work focuses on voluntary action dynamics, field theory applications, and the interplay between markets, the state, and civil society.

Key research interests include qualitative longitudinal methods, community development, and capacity-building in the voluntary sector. Current projects involve evaluating NAVCA's infrastructure, charity federations, and Power to Change's market development initiatives. He collaborates with institutions like the University of Birmingham and Clinks.
