Rob Carpenter is a Lecturer in the Department of Communication at UCLA's College of Social Sciences. He holds a Ph.D. from the University of Southern California, an M.A. from Northwestern University, and a B.A. from Claremont McKenna College. His interdisciplinary research spans mass communication, film and animation, politics and society, and public/mental health.
Dr. Carpenter's work focuses on empowering individuals and institutions through creative leadership and public intellectual engagement. He has taught at Syracuse University and the Boston Congress of Public Health Academy, and has served as Commissioner of Transportation for Los Angeles.
His publications demonstrate consistent focus on mental health interventions and personal development, particularly addressing trauma, imposter syndrome, and emotional resilience. As a Renaissance thinker, he integrates multiple academic fields to address complex societal challenges.
