Rizwan Ahmed

Professor Rizwan Ahmed is a Consultant Physician and Clinical Lead for Respiratory Medicine at Bolton Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. As a senior faculty member at the University of Bolton's Institute of Medical Sciences, he holds key roles including Year 3 Lead for Manchester Medical Students and Founding Member of the Centre for Remediation Support & Professionalism. He chairs the Centre for Safety for Older People (CESOP) and has organized its international conferences for five years.

His clinical leadership spans respiratory services, tuberculosis strategy development, and pandemic response (COVID-19). He pioneered a 7-day consultant-led respiratory service and contributes to national TB policy through regional/national organizations.
