About
Ritam Chatterjee is a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in Stockholm, Sweden, affiliated with the Hultgren Laboratory. His current research focuses on improving the fatigue life of Advanced High Strength Steel (AHSS) components for heavy vehicles through Crystal Plasticity-Finite Element simulations. Previously, he completed his Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay, where he studied dynamic recrystallization in metallic polycrystals. He also conducted postdoctoral research at LEM3, CNRS, Metz, France, developing mesoscale field dislocation mechanics models for Inconel718 superalloys. His expertise spans crystal plasticity modeling, computational homogenization, and material behavior analysis.
Research Interests: Crystal Plasticity, Mechanical Behavior of Materials, Continuum Mechanics, and Computational Homogenization. Current projects include optimizing microstructural evolution in steels to reduce automotive weight and carbon footprint.
