Rim Day is an Academic Tutor at the University of Sunderland, part of the Faculty of Education and Society. She joined the university in 2012 as an MA TESOL student and transitioned into her current role, focusing on academic English instruction and research in inclusive education. Her doctoral research examines fair assessment systems for low-literate ESOL learners. She teaches EAP pre-sessional courses and supervises MA dissertations in Education, International Education, and Special Educational Needs. Additionally, she supports ESOL providers with teacher training and literacy material design.
Her research interests center on marginalized learners, equitable assessment, and ESOL provision. She has contributed to publications advocating for fair assessment practices and amplifying voices of marginalized learners. Beyond academia, she collaborates with Huaqiao University in China, leading online modules on Public Speaking and Business Writing.
Rim’s work emphasizes accessibility and inclusion, particularly for learners with limited literacy skills. She is committed to enhancing student success through tailored academic support and feedback.
