Riley Studebaker is a Lecturer at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute's School of Architecture, specializing in robotic applications within built environments. He holds a Master of Robotics and Autonomous Systems from the University of Pennsylvania and a B.Arch from Virginia Tech.
His research examines robotic labor embedded in architectural contexts, including robotic hot-wire cutting and 3D-printed facades. As Research Associate in the Weitzman Autonomous Manufacturing Lab, he contributed to internationally published work and installed the world's largest robotically cut relief, 'Deep Relief'.
Professor Studebaker co-founded EDU Robotics and MetaOrnate, scheduled to install the Western Hemisphere's first permanent 3D-printed ceramic façade. He has co-led workshops at ACADiA and ROB|ARCH conferences, with peer-reviewed publications in ACADiA, DigitalFutures, and The Architect's Newspaper.
