Rigel Cappallo

Rigel Cappallo is a physicist and postdoctoral researcher at MIT's Haystack Observatory, specializing in X-ray astronomy and radio signal detection related to the early universe. He earned his bachelor's (2013), master's (2016), and PhD (2019) in Physics from UMass Lowell, where he conducted research with Associate Professor Silas Laycock and served as a teaching assistant. His work includes the EDGES project, which explores the first stars in the universe, and the Small Radio Telescope (SRT) program for educational outreach.
