Rick King Quale is an Teaching Professor in the Department of Communication Studies at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. He holds a Master of Science in Communication Studies (Minnesota State University, Mankato, 2012) with a focus on Organizational Communication, a Graduate Certificate in Professional Communication (2011), a Bachelor of Arts in Communication Studies with a Creative Writing minor (2009), and an Associate of Applied Science in American Sign Language Interpreting (1991).
His research and teaching interests include Public Speaking, Small Group Communication, and Organizational Communication. He has extensive experience as a freelance American Sign Language interpreter and previously served as a Community Services Program Specialist with Minnesota’s Department of Human Services. He has taught at Minnesota State University, Mankato, and via Interactive Television at Socrates Independent School District.
Professional roles include over 30 years as a sign language interpreter, adjunct faculty, and graduate teaching assistant. His community involvement spans roles in church ministry, youth sports, and theater.
