Richeng Piao

Richeng Piao is a Visiting Lecturer in the Department of Economics at Northeastern University's College of Social Sciences and Humanities. He holds a Ph.D. in Economics from Northeastern University and a B.S. in Economics and Mathematics from SUNY Albany. His expertise spans empirical economic research with a focus on applied economics, environmental policy, and energy markets.

Research interests include analyzing the impact of federal tax policies on electric vehicle adoption, energy market dynamics, and welfare economics. Notably, his research demonstrates the economic implications of government incentives in reducing carbon emissions and fossil fuel consumption.

He received the Gordon Karp Award, recognizing academic excellence. Piao teaches courses such as Principles of Macroeconomics, Microeconomics, and Money and Banking, leveraging his extensive empirical and analytical skills. His office is located at 301 Lake Hall on the Northeastern Boston Campus.
