Richard Masa is an Assistant Professor in the Visual Arts Department at the Hungarian University of Fine Arts, having joined in 2025. He holds an MA in Painting and Art History from the same university (1995–2000) and studied Graphic Arts at Bogdan Suput Art High School in Yugoslavia (1988–1991). His interdisciplinary career spans 30+ years across contemporary art, film, theater, and video game development, including six years in Paris focusing on digital/NFT art innovations.
Research Focus
Masa pioneered Process-Sculptures—a unique fusion of motion capture, 3D animation, and performance art that transforms body movements into abstract philosophical explorations of the subconscious. His work bridges technology and artistic expression, with emphasis on digital sculpture, interactive installations, and video game aesthetics (notably as Animation Director for Aliens: Dark Descent).
