Professor Richard J M Coward is the Professor of Renal Medicine at the University of Bristol and a Consultant Paediatric Nephrologist at Bristol Royal Hospital for Sick Children. His work bridges clinical practice and research, focusing on kidney cell signaling pathways in disease.
Research interests include:
- Understanding podocyte biology and proteinuria in kidney failure
- Diabetic nephropathy mechanisms and therapies
- Haemolytic Uraemic Syndrome (HUS) in children
- Inherited kidney stone disease (cystinuria)
