Richard I. Dick is a Professor at Cornell University's College of Engineering, Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, where he has served since 1977. Prior to this, he held faculty positions at the University of Illinois (8 years) and the University of Delaware (5 years). He has extensive professional experience in consulting engineering and the U.S. Public Health Service before pursuing his doctorate.
His research focuses on environmental engineering, water quality, and public health, with notable roles such as Distinguished Visiting Scientist at the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s Risk Reduction Engineering Laboratory (1986–1989).
