Richard Gyrd-Jones is a Professor with special responsibilities at Copenhagen Business School's Department of Marketing. His research examines brand management challenges in multi-stakeholder ecosystems and critically analyzes branding as a constitutive societal force. He co-founded the Brand Meaning Network, bringing together international scholars in brand meaning co-creation.
His research focuses on brand identity co-creation, implementation of branding strategies, and brands' societal roles. Current investigations explore branding's interaction with personal branding and psycho-political dimensions of brand meaning. Professor Gyrd-Jones teaches Brand Strategy & Business Processes at graduate levels and coordinates the Excellence in Brand Strategy & Analytics minor program.
His administrative roles include departmental coordination and program leadership. He has supervised over 100 Master's theses and serves on international PhD committees, maintaining collaborations with Oulu Business School and other institutions.
