Richard G. Luthy is the Silas H. Palmer Professor of Civil and Environmental Engineering at Stanford University, with a courtesy appointment in Oceans. He directs the NSF Engineering Research Center ReNUWIt, focusing on sustainable urban water infrastructure. His research emphasizes water reuse, stormwater management, and contaminant mitigation in engineered systems. He holds a Ph.D. from UC Berkeley, and has authored over 300 publications.
