Richard Baldoz is an Associate Professor of American Studies at Brown University, affiliated with American Studies, Ethnic Studies, and Sociology. His research examines the intersection of U.S. empire and immigration policy, focusing on citizenship, border control, and national belonging. He explores how foreign and domestic policies shape racial and ideological boundaries of the U.S. national community. His work spans Filipino American history, Cold War radical movements, and comparative colonialism.
