Riccardo Ridi is an Associate Professor of Library Science at the Department of Humanities, Ca' Foscari University of Venice since 2000. He works in the field of Archival, Bibliography, and Library Science [HIST-04/C] and has been qualified as a full professor in sector 11/HIST-04 since 2013.
His research focuses on digital libraries, knowledge organization, information ethics, and library philosophy. He has served as director of the digital series WP-LIS: working papers in library and information science since 2002 and as member of editorial boards for several academic journals including Biblioteche Oggi (since 2003) and Bibliotime (since 2013).
Recent publications address intellectual neutrality in libraries, information epistemology, and the intersection of artificial intelligence with semantic web technologies. He received the Best Full Paper award (2022) for his work on phenomenon-based classification systems.
