Prof. Dr. Ricardo Borrmann holds the Chair of Contemporary History at the Université de Neuchâtel and leads the SNSF-funded project Neuchâtel Faced with Colonization, examining its colonial ties. Previously, he served at the University of Bremen as a postdoctoral researcher and lecturer in Latin American History. He earned his doctorate from Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich (LMU) and his habilitation focused on Brazilian film critic Paulo Emílio Salles Gomes.

Grants include the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) and University of Bremen’s ZF funding. He collaborates with institutions like the Laboratório Cidade e Poder (UFF) and serves on editorial boards for Passagens and Direito em Movimento.
