Rian Roux is a Lecturer in the Pathways Academic Integrity Unit at the University of Southern Queensland (UniSQ), located within UniSQ College. He holds a PhD from UniSQ (2022), an MDiv from the Australian College of Theology (2012), and a BAppSc from Queensland University (2009). His roles include academic integrity oversight, research supervision, and pathway program development.
Roux's research focuses on transformative learning theory, generative AI ethics in education, and the intersection of faith with academic practices. Key areas include student leadership development, ethical AI use in research, and the philosophical underpinnings of truth-testing frameworks. He co-developed the ETHICAL Framework for responsible AI usage and authored foundational work on virtue-based transformative learning heuristics.
His articles analyze cognitive development processes in education, the socio-cultural impacts of preparatory programs, and religious belief evolution. Current supervision projects explore barriers to student governance participation, refugee education challenges, and Open Educational Resources sustainability.
