Ria-Maria Adams

Ria-Maria Adams holds the position of Visiting Researcher at the Arctic Centre within the University of Lapland, focusing on Arctic Societies research. Her work bridges social sciences and anthropology, with a particular emphasis on youth wellbeing, shrinking towns, and northern immigrant communities in Finnish Lapland.

Her research interests include analyzing regional decline narratives, urban revitalization strategies, and the intersection of affective politics with neoliberal policies. She explores how young people negotiate 'good life' aspirations in peripheral regions through lifestyle migration and local initiatives.
