Reuben Segara

Reuben Segara is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Finance at the University of Sydney. He holds a BBus(Hons) from the University of Technology Sydney and a PhD in Finance from the University of Sydney, supported by an Australian Securities Exchange (ASX) scholarship. He is a Fellow of CPA Australia (FCPA) and affiliated with the Sydney Environment Institute and Sydney Southeast Asia Centre. His teaching focuses on Capital Markets and Corporate Finance, integrating research-led pedagogy.

Research interests include market efficiency, corporate finance, and capital market integrity, with emphasis on Mergers & Acquisitions (M&As), corporate director trading behavior, and Southeast Asian market dynamics. Key publications explore carbon assurance impacts on equity costs, analyst herding, and trading behaviors around corporate events. He has held visiting roles at the Capital Markets Cooperative Research Centre (CMCRC) and the ASX.
