Reuben Adatorwovor

Dr. Reuben Adatorwovor is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biostatistics at the University of Kentucky's College of Public Health. He is affiliated with the Center for Health, Engagement, and Transformation (CHET) and the Markey Cancer Center. His work focuses on methodological advancements in survival analysis, particularly addressing competing risks in population-based studies. His research spans cancer survival, clinical trials, substance use disorders (e.g., opioids, alcohol, cocaine), infectious diseases, telehealth, diabetes, nutritional epidemiology, and bone health.

Dr. Adatorwovor holds a PhD in Biostatistics and Epidemiology from the University of North Carolina. He has authored over 30 peer-reviewed articles and leads or collaborates on 24 funded research projects, including grants from NIH, the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research, and industry partnerships like Merck.

His research emphasizes innovative statistical techniques to relax assumptions in survival analysis, with a growing interest in machine learning applications. Recent projects include evaluating telehealth interventions for chronic pain, analyzing wastewater-based epidemiology for SARS-CoV-2 surveillance, and investigating oral health outcomes linked to buprenorphine use.

Dr. Adatorwovor’s work aligns with UN Sustainable Development Goals related to good health and well-being (SDG 3) and reducing inequalities (SDG 10). He is a Co-Investigator on multi-institutional initiatives addressing addiction, dental public health, and cancer prevention.
