Renée Duff

Renée Duff is a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Michigan School of Dentistry within the Department of Biologic and Materials Sciences & Prosthodontics. She will assume the role of Senior Associate Dean on June 1, advising Dean Jacques Nör on strategic planning and representing the school at institutional levels. A University of Michigan alumna, Duff earned her bachelor’s degree (1991), Doctor of Dental Surgery (1996), and a master’s in prosthodontics (2005). She transitioned from part-time faculty (1997) to full-time (2004) and has served as Associate Dean for Students since 2013.

As a clinical expert in prosthodontics, Duff emphasizes the integration of patient-centered planning with functional and aesthetic dental restoration. Her work highlights the importance of critical thinking, hands-on skill development, and ethical practice in dental education. She has been instrumental in shaping student services, supporting diverse learners navigating academic and personal challenges.

Duff advocates for early clinical exposure, interdisciplinary collaboration through the Pathways Program, and community-based care initiatives. She underscores the University of Michigan School of Dentistry’s unique strengths, including its central campus integration and interprofessional education with medicine, pharmacy, and social work.
