Renée-Claude Breitenstein

Renée-Claude Breitenstein is an Associate Professor of French at Brock University, specializing in 16th-century French literature, rhetoric, and gender studies. She holds a PhD from McGill University. Her research examines the intersection of print culture, reception studies, and textual analysis, particularly focusing on collections in praise of women in Renaissance France. She co-edited the anthology Éloges collectifs de femmes à la Renaissance française (2021) and serves as Associate Editor of Renaissance and Reformation/Renaissance et Réforme. Courses taught include French literature and composition from medieval to early modern periods.
