Renee Calkins

Renee Calkins is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Ancient & Modern Languages, Literatures, & Cultures at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. Her expertise spans classical languages, literature, and archaeology.

Her teaching interests focus on Ancient Greek language, culture, and mythology, while her research interests include Archaic Greek poetry, social memory in the ancient Greek world, and Greek historiography.

Academic activities include participation in the Wisconsin Teaching Fellows and Scholars Program (2017-18) and the NEH Summer Institute on Mortality (2014).
