Renee Bouley

Dr. Renee Bouley is an Assistant Professor at The Ohio State University Marion Campus, Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry. She holds a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from the University of Notre Dame (2016) and completed postdoctoral research at the University of Michigan (2016–2019). Her research focuses on antibiotic resistance mechanisms, particularly studying L,D-transpeptidases in carbapenem-resistant Enterobacteriaceae (CRE). Techniques employed include X-ray crystallography, protein expression/purification, and structure-based drug design. Collaborations include projects on DNA repair proteins and cancer-related mutations with faculty on both the Marion and Columbus campuses.
