Rene R.S. Packard

Rene R.S. Packard is an Associate Professor in Residence in the Departments of Medicine and Physiology at the David Geffen School of Medicine, UCLA. He serves as the Lauren B. Leichtman and Arthur E. Levine Cardiovascular Investigator, focusing on mechanisms of chemotherapy-induced cardiotoxicity, cardiac repair, and advanced imaging strategies for cardiovascular diagnosis.

Education:

Research Interests:

Dr. Packard’s work integrates molecular biology, imaging technologies, and clinical cardiology to address chemotherapy-induced cardiac injury, cardiac regeneration, and high-risk atherosclerotic lesion characterization. His lab develops novel PET imaging techniques and 3D electrochemical impedance spectroscopy for non-invasive diagnosis.
