Renata Marzec

Renata Marzec serves as Associate Professor and Dean of the Faculty of Instrumental Music at the Feliks Nowowiejski Academy of Music in Bydgoszcz, where she teaches cello, chamber ensembles, and instrumental teaching methodology. Her career is deeply rooted at her alma mater since graduating in 1990, with additional teaching at the State Primary and Secondary Music School in Inowrocław since 1994.

Her artistic expertise spans classical cello performance, chamber music, baroque repertoire, and jazz collaborations. She maintains an expansive performance portfolio featuring sonatas by Brahms, Shostakovich, and Beethoven; piano trios by Haydn and Mozart; and transcriptions of works by Albeniz and Ysaye. As co-founder of the Cellorganic duo with organist Radosław Marcew, she actively premieres contemporary compositions while interpreting historical works by Bach, Vivaldi, and Liszt.

Professor Marzec has mentored dozens of professional cellists and teachers across Poland and internationally. Notable students include Ewa Witczak (First Prize, National Cello Tournament in Warsaw) and Joanna Laskowska (Second Prize, International Chamber Music Competition in Radziejowice). She regularly conducts masterclasses at music academies in Kraków, Toruń, and Mława while serving on competition juries for cello, guitar, and chamber ensembles.

Her ensemble leadership includes the Capella Bydgostiensis Chamber Orchestra (1993-1996), a baroque trio with Urszula Bartkiewicz and Andrzej Łęgowski, and the Cellorganic duo. She actively collaborates with the Inowrocławskie Towarzystwo Muzyczne 'Pro Arte', performing as soloist with their symphony orchestra at international festivals across Poland and Europe including Reggio Emilia, Antibes, and Kraków.
