Remzi Arpaci-Dusseau

Remzi Arpaci-Dusseau is a Professor in the Computer Sciences Department at the University of Wisconsin, Madison, with primary affiliation in the College of Engineering. He holds the distinguished titles of Grace Wahba Professor and Vilas Distinguished Achievement Professor. Additionally, he serves as the Director of the School of Computer, Data & Information Sciences and Special Advisor to the Provost on Computing at UW-Madison.

Professor Arpaci-Dusseau's research focuses on operating systems, storage systems, and distributed systems. His work has had significant impact on both academic research and commercial systems. He co-leads a research group with Professor Andrea Arpaci-Dusseau, and together they have made numerous contributions to the field of computer systems. Their operating systems book (OSTEP) is freely available online, downloaded millions of times yearly, and used at hundreds of institutions worldwide.

His research group has won numerous best-paper awards, and many of their innovations are used in commercial systems.
