Remedios Perni Llorente is a Permanent Professor in the Department of English Philology at the University of Alicante, affiliated with the Faculty of Philosophy and Letters. She earned her Ph.D. in English Philology from the University of Murcia with a European distinction (2014) and holds dual bachelor's degrees in English Philology and Art History.

Perni has published on topics such as Ophelia's role in the history of madness, melancholy, photography, and Shakespeare's digital adaptations. She is also a prominent translator of critical theory works, having translated texts by Tim Murray, Mieke Bal, and W.J.T. Mitchell.
