Reina Fisher-van Werkhoven is a Senior Lecturer in Midwifery at the University of West London's College of Nursing, Midwifery and Healthcare. With a career spanning decades, she transitioned from adult nursing to public health and midwifery, gaining international experience in South Sudan before qualifying as a midwife in the UK. Since joining UWL in 2018, she has led the trailblazing Midwife Degree Apprenticeship programme as Course Leader from 2022.
- Education: BSc Midwifery (University of Brighton, 2001)
- Experience: Adult nurse (Netherlands, 1987), Public Health nurse (South Sudan, 1995-1998), Practice Development Midwife (Wexham Park Hospital), Midwifery Fellow (HEE, 2015/16)
Research Focus: Her work centers on maternal mental health, informed by clinical practice across the Netherlands and UK. She contributes to midwifery education frameworks and professional advocacy.

Teaching: She instructs pre-registration midwifery programs (BMidwifery and MMidwifery) and teaches specialized modules on Examination of the Newborn and Professional Midwifery Advocacy.
