Rehan Akbar

Dr. Rehan Akbar is an Associate Teaching Professor at Florida International University's Knight Foundation School of Computing and Information Sciences. He has over 22 years of experience in academia and industry, specializing in outcome-based education and curriculum design. He holds a PhD in Information Technology from Universiti Teknologi PETRONAS (2013), and advanced degrees from multiple institutions in Pakistan.

His research focuses on cybersecurity, software engineering, human-computer interaction, and big data usability. He has secured multiple grants for ransomware detection, cloud computing optimization, and software project management. His work includes developing frameworks for intrusion detection systems and improving real-time data transmission in IoT networks.
