Regina F. Doherty

Regina F. Doherty is the Associate Provost for Faculty Affairs and Dean for Interprofessional Education and Practice at the MGH Institute of Health Professions, where she also holds a Professorship in Occupational Therapy. Her roles include leadership in advancing interprofessional collaboration across healthcare and education sectors. She earned her BS from Springfield College, MS and OTD from Tufts University. Dr. Doherty specializes in healthcare ethics, interprofessional education, and professional reasoning. Her work emphasizes moral resilience, JEDI (Justice, Equity, Diversity, Inclusion) competencies, and patient-centered care.

Her research and publications focus on interprofessional collaboration, ethical practice, and healthcare education. Notable works include Health Professional Patient Interaction (10th Ed.) and Ethical Dimensions in the Health Professions. She has delivered keynote presentations on topics like 'Infusing JEDI Competencies in Interprofessional Education' (2024 Gold Humanism Summit) and 'Teaching Compassion' at the Compassion in Action Conference.
