Regina Ensenauer is a Professor of Experimental Pediatrics and Metabolism at Heinrich Heine University Düsseldorf, affiliated with the University Children’s Hospital. Her research focuses on early-life origins of childhood obesity, fetal programming, and metabolic disease prevention. She leads the PEACHES cohort study investigating maternal obesity’s long-term effects on offspring. As an Anna Boyksen Fellow at the TUM Institute for Advanced Study, her work addresses preventive pediatrics.
Her academic journey includes a medical degree from Heidelberg University, residency in Pediatrics at Freiburg, and postdoctoral training at the Mayo Clinic.
