Rebecka Rutledge Fisher is a Professor of English and Comparative Literature at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. Her research focuses on Black thought, African American literary cultures, and intersections between literature, philosophy, and critical theory. She holds a Ph.D. in Comparative Literature from Washington University in Saint Louis (2001), along with degrees from Ohio University.

Teaching spans undergraduate and graduate courses on Black diaspora, literary theory, and African American literature across eras. She co-teaches advanced seminars on Black queer theory and race-philosophy intersections.
