Rebecca Wynter

Dr. Rebecca Wynter is a Researcher in Health Humanities at the University of Amsterdam and co-ordinator of the Pulse Network. Her interdisciplinary work bridges Medical Humanities, historical research, and public engagement.

Her research focuses on the histories of psychiatry, mental health, learning disability, neurosurgery, and first responders, with a particular emphasis on the First World War era and Quaker Studies. She specializes in institutional history, disability narratives, and community-based public history projects.

Funding for her work has been provided by prestigious organizations including the Wellcome Trust, Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC), British Academy, and universities like Manchester and Queen Mary London. She actively collaborates with museums on exhibition curation and with community groups on participatory history initiatives.
