About
Rebecca Sharpe is Senior Lecturer in Geography at Sheffield Hallam University, where she leads the BSc Geography program. Her research applies spatial analysis and GIS to water engineering challenges, particularly drinking water quality and river systems. With a PhD in Water Engineering from the University of Sheffield, Dr. Sharpe investigates biofilm dynamics in water distribution networks and flood risk management strategies.
Her interdisciplinary work connects environmental science with engineering solutions, examining how hydraulic regimes influence water quality parameters. Current doctoral supervision includes projects on active transportation networks and spatial flood risk optimization in Thailand. Dr. Sharpe teaches across physical geography, GIS, and research methods curricula.
