Rebecca Schneider is a Professor of Modern Culture and Media at Brown University, specializing in performance studies, decolonial methods, and interdisciplinary art practices. Her work interrogates intersections of media, theatre, and Black feminist thought, with a focus on historical reenactment, gesture ethics, and postcolonial critique.
Her research interests span decolonial methodologies, liveness in performance, and the prehistories of screen media. Key projects include *This Shoal Which is Not One* (2020), exploring African diasporic narratives, and *Slough Media* (2018), which examines media's materiality.
