Rebecca Reid

Dr. Rebecca A. Reid is an Associate Professor of Political Science at the University of Texas at El Paso, serving as Director of Graduate Studies. She holds a Ph.D. in Political Science from the University of South Carolina (2015) and a B.A. in Government and Spanish from Wofford College (2008). Her research explores:

• Judicial decision-making in domestic and international courts
• Human rights enforcement mechanisms
• Indigenous legal sovereignty and compliance

Publications demonstrate consistent focus on transnational legal influence, court activism, and intersections of law and politics. Recent works analyze Inter-American Court impacts, judicial independence, and gender dynamics in governance.

Awards include the APSA Law & Courts Service Award (2021) and UTEP Five Year Service Award (2021). She teaches public law, research methods, and international law courses.
