Rebecca Raszewski serves as a Professor & Information Services & Liaison Librarian at the Library for the Health Sciences, University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC). She has been the library liaison for the UIC nursing community in Chicago since 2008 and holds a Department Affiliate position with the College of Nursing. Her professional journey at UIC progressed from Assistant Information Services Librarian and Assistant Professor (2008-2014), to Associate Professor (2014-2024), and now Professor (2024-present).

Professor Raszewski's research focuses on the intersection of nursing and information science, with particular emphasis on evidence-based practice implementation, nursing informatics, and clinical decision support systems. Professor Raszewski leads the Nursing Experts: Translating the Evidence (NExT) initiative through multiple funded phases (NExT2-NExT5), a collaboration between nurses and librarians providing free online evidence-based practice education. She serves on numerous committees including the University Library Promotion & Tenure Committee, Health Sciences Communicators Council, and various evaluation committees. Her work extends to developing frameworks for nursing information literacy and creating reproducible processes for nursing resource evaluation through the NAHRS Nursing Essential Resources List (NNERL).
As a Department Affiliate with the College of Nursing, she collaborates closely with nursing faculty and students, providing specialized information services and contributing to curriculum development. Her work with the NExT initiative has created significant infrastructure for evidence-based practice education across multiple healthcare settings.
