Rebecca Mason is an Associate Professor in the Department of Philosophy at the University of San Francisco, specializing in metaphysics (particularly social metaphysics), feminist philosophy, and social/political philosophy. She also explores intersections with epistemology and philosophy of language.
- Education: PhD in Philosophy (Northwestern University, 2015), MA (Dalhousie University, 2008), BA (Dalhousie University, 2007).
Her research focuses on the metaphysics of social kinds, feminist epistemology, and critical analyses of implicit consensus in social theory. She actively collaborates on interdisciplinary projects through the Bay Area Feminism and Philosophy Workshop.
Recent publications examine mind-dependence of social categories, anti-realist critiques in social ontology, and feminist reinterpretations of consensus-driven frameworks. These works span journals like Philosophical Studies and Thought, alongside handbook contributions.
