She holds roles including Section Lead for Molecular and Cellular Medicine, and previously served as Senior Tutor and Outcomes Assessment Champion for the School of Veterinary Medicine.
Education: BSc (Hons) in Bioveterinary Sciences from the University of Liverpool (2007), followed by a PhD in Veterinary Science (2007–2011). Postdoctoral work at the University of Liverpool focused on ion channels in chondrocytes and inflammatory effects on joint tissues. Joined University of Surrey in 2014 as a Lecturer in Physiology.
Research interests center on cell physiology and mechanisms of tissue breakdown in aging-related diseases like osteoarthritis. Key areas include ion channel function in chondrocytes, electrophysiological changes in disease states, and cell-material interactions for regenerative medicine. Techniques include dielectrophoresis and electrophysiological modeling.
Grants: Secured a Hong Kong-based research grant for the School of Veterinary Medicine in 2022. Collaborations span Engineering and Physical Sciences faculties for scaffold development and material-cell interaction studies.
