About
Rebecca Fox is Adrian Reed Professor of Environmental Science and Studies at Washington College. Her NSF-funded research examines nitrogen cycling in agricultural systems, particularly denitrification processes converting nitrate to greenhouse gases (N₂O and N₂). Fieldwork in Maryland's Choptank watershed evaluates how agricultural best management practices affect water quality.
She directs the Watershed Biogeochemistry Lab, measuring nutrient concentrations in local streams and greenhouse gas emissions. Courses include Watershed Biogeochemistry, Field Methods, and Climate Change, with international teaching in Bermuda and Ecuador.
