Rebecca Clark serves as the Department Chair for Social Work and Sociology, Social Work Program Director, and Associate Professor of Social Work at Lipscomb University. She joined the faculty full-time in 2018, following eight years as an adjunct instructor in the BSW program. With over 25 years in higher education, her roles have included Dean of Student Life at Ohio Valley University and Associate Professor of Behavioral Sciences.
- Education: BSW from Harding University, MSW from West Virginia University, and currently pursuing a Doctor of Ministry in Leadership and Spiritual Formation at Portland Seminary (George Fox University).
Her research focuses on integrating spirituality into social work practice, spiritual formation, and addressing spiritual/religious trauma. She is certified in Mediation and Conflict Management and trained in Ignatian spiritual direction. Clark actively participates in Lipscomb’s Respect Leads Diversity and Inclusion Council.
Professionally, she has worked in clinical social work across in-patient/out-patient behavioral health, geriatric care, and residential treatment settings. Her teaching spans online and traditional formats, with a focus on service-learning and civic engagement initiatives.
